Three filmmakers competing in the first-ever "HF3 Shorts" High Falls online short film contest were honored for their efforts Monday night.
Club One in Rochester's East End hosted the event. Filmmakers and attendees lined up at the bar to view the films on an ultra-wide projection screen.
The contestants were asked to choose a theme based on the phrase "Coming Home."
First place winner Ben Doran created an animated film about some of his favorite activities around Ontario Beach Park.
"I wanted to make the film because it pretty much brought me back to my history and everything that I used to love," said Doran.
The High Falls Film Festival will host its main week-long event in May. The short film contest takes place every two months.
