As technology is constantly evolving and transforming, so is its use in the classroom for teaching.
A forum held Tuesday night at the Monroe BOCES office sought input on how to develop a state-wide technology plan.
Twenty-five school districts and three colleges showed up at the community forum to talk about ways to streamline technology for learning.
The Board of Regents has charged the education department to hold these forums across New York and learn from teachers about what needs to happen.
"We're actually collecting from each table here today their recommended actions for each of the six goals of the technology plan. We're collecting all that data and we're going to analyze it and create a technology plan based on the data that's been gathered at different sessions," said Larry Paska, New York State Education Department.
Organizers said the intent of the listening tour was to give teachers a forum to think outside the box.
