These days, people take holistic supplements to help relieve all sorts of ailments, from joint pain and heart disease to itchy skin and bad breath. Now some of those same holistic remedies can benefit our animal companions. Today, we'll look a variety of supplements for your pets in this edition of Pet Pointers.

Glucosamine is one of the most popular supplements on the market. It is known for its pain relief and supporting healthy hips and joints. It is readily available at holistic pet supply stores in formulas for your pets and many vets are starting to prescribe it along with a program physical rehabilitation for dogs with hip issues.
If itchy flakey skin is bothering your pet, consider trying an omega fatty acid supplement. Combined with a quality diet many pets will have improved coat and skin condition after just a few weeks.
There are supplements available on the market for just about any problem your pet may have. Whether its digestion or you are just trying to improve their general healthy there is likely a supplement made just for them and the issue you are trying to help.
It's best to consult with your vet before you start giving your pet supplements of any kind and remember human medications and vitamins are not for animals and could be potentially harmful to them.
Remember to have your pets spayed and neutered.
