It's a gift that can help make a big difference in the Rochester community.
R News has once again teamed up with the Volunteers of America this year, for the R Caring Gifts campaign. Donations help pay for a variety of programs at the VOA, including a children's center.
It provides affordable childcare and education programs for 260 kids a year, allowing their parents to continue working.
"I really think that investing in children is the answer to so many problems," said Kathleen Eastman of the VOA. "We can pay for their education or we can pay to put them in prison later. We can pay for their education now or pay for their welfare later. We really need to think about that when we are investing our money."
The goal is to raise $80,000.
Only about $30,000 has been raised so far.
The VOA is concerned that, without the money, some people will have to be turned away.
The campaign runs through the end of the month.
