A three mile walk and 10K run is how some are going to raise money for young patients with burn injuries.
The
Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association (FLRBA) holds a summer burn camp for youth survivors.
More than 200 runners and walkers at Camp Eastman Sunday turned out to raise money for the camp.
"What most people don't understand is just really how life altering a burn injury is. From the point of injury to the point of treatment to the point of recovery, it really is a life injury," said Paul Schwartzman, FLRBA. "The camp really provides them an opportunity to be normal kids."
Kids ages 6 to 16 will head to the week-long camp in August to enjoy the summer season.
Sunday's run/walk is expected to raise about $6,000 for the camp.
