The Maplewood YMCA will close next month for a multi-million dollar renovation and expansion.
The Y’s executive director says the Maplewood Y is one of the oldest branches in the Rochester area and is beginning to show its age.

Leaders say after the renovations the branch will be handicap accessible with direct access to the pool, will have a new wellness center and a full size gym.

The branch will close from April 25th to February 2011.

The project will cost $5 million.

Members will be able to use any of the Y's other branches.
