Plane Returns to Rochester After Bird Strike
A US Airways flight leaving Rochester Thursday morning had to turn around and come back, after the plane hit some birds just after takeoff.
The jet carrying 124 passengers and a crew of five was bound for Charlotte, North Carolina. An airline spokeswoman says the pilot of Flight 1101 declared an emergency two minutes after leaving Rochester's airport Thursday morning.
The plane is being repaired and passengers were shifted to other flights.
