KeyBank honored area businesswomen for their leadership and customer service at the annual Key4Women event Tuesday morning.

Author Cindy Solomon was the keynote speaker and discussed ways to create a culture of courage. She said that finding the courage to move forward is the key to success in today’s new business economy.

"Most of us, when it gets down to it, believe that courage is found in the smaller things.
It is found in Jane raising her hand in a meeting and saying that she believes we are pursuing the incorrect strategy, or it’s James deciding he wants to take a year off of his corporate career and spend more time with his kids," said Cindy Solomon, leadership and customer service expert and author.

Key4Women selected Kitty Van Bortel, owner of Van Bortel Ford and Subaru, as its 2011 Achieve Award winner.

The Key4Women Forum also raised $5,000 for the YWCA.
