The United Way celebrated 27 graduates of the Latino Leadership Development program.
Participants spent several weeks in workshops developing their leadership skills in the community.
The program is designed to be diverse with participants from different business and nationality backgrounds.
“The goal is to have these folks get to the point where they can sit on boards of directors for different organizations that help the community and thereby effect the systems that help the Hispanic community in the Rochester area,” said Julio Saenz, chairperson of the Latino Leadership Development Program.
This is the 29th year for the program. It was started in Rochester and has become a model for other United Way chapters across the country.
