Birthday Party Benefits Local Non-Profit
Instead of presents for her own birthday, a Henrietta woman decided to raise money to help a non-profit buy toys for kids.
When Teresa Greene of Henrietta turned 50 in June, she wanted to have a fundraiser with her favorite bands instead of having a birthday party.
On Sunday, Po'Boys Brass Band and Prime Time Funk played together at Lovin' Cup Bistro to raise money for Community Place of Greater Rochester.
"It's so important for me, because I see the good work they currently do today. Being on the board, I can see the difference that Community Place has. Being a settlement house, they have the neighbors participate in the delivery of services," Greene said.
Community Place serves the northeast section of Rochester.
