Monday is collection day for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. It included a stop in Webster at a Ford dealer there that had an SUV full of toys.

Henderson Ford staff, customers, and business partners donated the truck load of toys. The dealership Ford challenged everyone to help fill the Ford Explorer.

Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Corps Reserve for children whose parents cannot afford to buy them presents for Christmas. The mission includes collecting new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December to then giving them to needy kids in the community in time for the holiday.

"We are highly appreciative of all the service that we get from the community, even though it is a such an economic downfall - everyone is struggling for money," said Sgt. Sean Lindsay. "It is great that people can give. We serve some 3,000 kids every year, so when we get an opportunity to pick up toys and it is this much it serves quite a few families out of that 3,000, so it's great."

Lindsay said the warehouse for the local Toys for Tots program is full. They are preparing to bag up the toys and distribute them at five area locations this weekend.

This is the second year Henderson Ford has held a Toys for Tots donation drive.
