For about 10 years now area universities have held a special forum to showcase their work in innovative research.
The forum is held every year for companies to see what area universities are investigating. About 70 companies were represented at the forum.
Organizers say the forum is a great way for companies to see what projects area universities are working on when they might not otherwise get the opportunity to.
"There's so much going on in the regional universities, between Cornell, U of R, and R.I.T. there's more than a billion dollars of federally funded research. So there is so much going on at these institutions that it is impossible for a company to investigate it all on their own," said the Director of the Center for Emerging and Innovative Sciences, Mark Bocko.
Bocko credits the forum for creating several connections between area universities and local companies.
