You can catch Chris Gallegos reporting in the field Saturday through Wednesday.
A Colorado native, Chris joined the YNN team in August 2009 from Bismarck, North Dakota.
After graduating from the University of Colorado (Boulder), Chris made his way to Bismarck. While there, he helped start the day for North Dakotans as the morning anchor, producer and reporter for the NBC affiliate. For three years, he helped revamp and reformat the most watched morning show in Western and Central North Dakota, garnering the show two Emmy nominations.
In the spring of 2009, Bismarck and much of North Dakota was underwater as abnormally high snowfall began to melt. After the water receded, Chris co-produced and co-edited an hour documentary looking back at the impact of one of the worst and costly flooding events in North Dakota.
Chris is committed to helping non-profits in a number of ways. Twice, he has shaved his head on live television for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a childhood cancer research organization.
In his spare time, Chris enjoys taking his dog Sherlock out for long walks, heading to the movies and exploring what Western New York has to offer.
