Romulus Woman Steals from Human Services Group
A Seneca County woman was indicted for allegedly stealing money from a human services group.
A superseding indictment charges Mary Brainard, of Romulus, with grand larceny and 18 counts of falsifying business records.
Prosecutors allege between 2007 and 2011 Brainard stole money from the Seneca County Children's Committee and then submitted false financial reports in order to cover up the theft.
The Seneca County website says the committee is a group of private citizens who provide scholarships and other special needs for low income children.
