State Senator Owen Johnson to Retire
After serving 40 years in Albany, 83-year-old Owen Johnson has decided to retire.
The current New York State Senator will finish his present term, which expires December 31, 2012, but will then forgo reelection.
In a personal statement the Senator released July 13th, he felt that this was the right time to retire.
Johnson was first elected to the Senate in 1972. He represents a Long Island district.
