NWS Looking for Volunteer Weather Spotters in Ontario County
The National Weather Service is looking for volunteer weather spotters in Ontario County for during severe weather emergencies.
SKYWARN spotters would provide reports by amateur radio, phone, or the internet to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
A free two-hour training session will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at the Ontario
County Complex in Canandaigua.
The training has an overview of the National Weather Service organization and basic severe weather meteorology on how storms and tornadoes form.
