Rite Aid celebrated the grand opening of its newest location in Wayne County. It's located in the Town of Ontario at the corner of Routes 104 and 350.
Rite Aid relocated its Ontario store because it outgrew the space in the plaza down the road.
This corner location allowed the store to add a drive-thru pharmacy.
This is what Rite Aid calls a "Wellness Store." It includes gluten free foods, a GNC vitamin department, and additional staff called Wellness Ambassadors. They help customers with health benefits and shopping discounts. The ambassadors use iPads to access information.
This store employs 20 people.
"Almost all of the employees from the old store have come over here. They had an opportunity to come here and we also because of the size of the store and projected change in volume and just the sheer square footage, we added associates to make sure that we have the people to take care of our customers. It really is a focus on our customers and living healthy and the whole wellness concept," said Randy Jenney, district manager.
Rid Aid now has more than 4,600 stores in 31 states.
