Firewall Helps Contain Garage Fire
A quick response and a working firewall helped contain a garage fire in Webster. Webster and West Webster Fire departments responded to the fire on Stafford Crescent off of Klem Road Sunday.
Webster Fire said the homeowner found the flames in his trash can, which was in the garage. When crews arrived, they found the garage, and the car next to it, on fire.
"The firewall held very well and held the progression of the fire," said Webster Fire Chief John Rinebold. "Plus the door between the house and the garage remained closed, which helped contain it to the garage also."
No one was injured. There was smoke damage to the house next door. The garage was a complete loss.
The official cause is still under investigation.
