Rochester fire investigators call a house fire in the city Friday morning suspicious.
The fire broke out at a home on Ravine Avenue around 2 a.m.
Firefighters said everyone was outside of the house when they arrived at the scene.
Investigators believe the fire started on the porch and spread up to the attic.
“We are calling this one suspicious because when companies pulled up it was primarily an exterior fire," said Rochester Deputy Fire Chief Martin McMillan. “This has vinyl siding on it which is flammable and some of the materials on the exterior of the house burned very quickly."
The American Red Cross said it is assisting a family of five who lived in the home.
No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
