A candlelight vigil originally planned to keep the name of a missing Rochester teen in the media and on the minds of the public turned in a prayer vigil for the family of murder victim, Larie Butler, and a call for justice.

Hundreds of family members, friends and strangers, walked and rolled up to the vigil on motorcycles to show support for the family of Larie Butler,17.

"We felt, all of us, being parents ourselves, that this really touched our hearts,” Alpha Wolves Motorcycle club spokesman, Bryant Carter, said. "It’s emotional, I wouldn’t wish that on anybody."

"It means a lot to me, I feel loved,” Larie’s mother, Karen Snipes, said, “I never knew I had all these people out here you know, watching the TV, prayin’ and hopin’ for my baby to come home."

"If Larie was here right now, she’d say, ‘Dad, all this for me?’ She was a very special girl, very happy, cheerful, that’s why everybody’s out here showin’ this much love for her,
That’s how much love she gave to people. My daughter way very special, loved her dearly, miss her much," Larie’s Father, Johan Butler, said.

"Lord, we rest assured that you knew who she was, and that most importantly she knew who you were. We have no doubt in our minds and our hearts that she is with you now," Paul McFadden said while leading the prayer at the vigil.

Police found Larie's body in a swimming pool on Dorington Road in Irondequoit Thursday night, five days after she never returned home from a trip to the mall with a young man her mother says was related to her family through marriage.
DeVante Lively, 20, is in jail, charged with her murder.

"Lord we pray to you that you give us the justice that we demand lord," McFadden said.

"For him to get everything he deserves, I don’t want anything to slip through any crack. I want this guy to get all the time he deserves man, this guy has to spend the rest of his life in jail. My daughter was innocent. She had a pure soul. She was wonderful,” Johan Butler said, “My daughter was my best friend, my truest friend, she meant the world to me. And she will rest in peace and we will always remember her for the rest of our lives.

Funeral arrangements for Larie Butler have not yet been set.

Lively is being held in jail on no bail, he's scheduled to appear in court again Thursday.
