Would-Be Shoplifter Allegedly Bit Kmart Employee
A Kmart worker was allegedly bitten while trying to stop a would-be shoplifter. Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office say it happened June 20th at the Chili Kmart.
Police arrested Cheryl Burrell and charged her with attempted assault and robbery.
The police report says a Kmart loss prevention officer attempted to stop Burrell from shoplifting. Police say Burrell resisted, flailed, and then bit the Kmart worker on the stomach.
Burrell was arraigned in Chili Town Court. Bail was set at $50,000.
