Meteorologists are watching rivers and creeks in Genesee, Wyoming and Niagara counties this weekend.
Forecasters say the increase in snow melt this past week combined with a slow moving storm lingering over the mid-Atlantic states could cause some minor flooding around portions of Western New York and the southern tier.
The steadiest rain was expected to fall Saturday, dropping more than an inch in some areas.
The National Weather Service has issued a watching in effect through Sunday afternoon.
