The Livingston County Sheriff's Department said a woman and her adult son are under arrest, charged in a large marijuana growing operation. This after deputies responded for the report of shots fired at the suspects' home.

Deputies showed off the drugs they seized Tuesday afternoon.

When police arrived at the Ebert Road home in Nunda around 3 o'clock Tuesday morning, they found Diane Bielewicz, 61, in the nearby woods. She told police she thought the shots were fired at her.

Deputies found the shots were fired from inside the home by her son Joseph Bielewicz, 33, who claimed he was firing at intruders.

When police got inside the home and barn, they found hundreds of marijuana plants and 17 large containers filled with pot. More than a dozen weapons were also recovered.

"This is huge. This is a very significant operation that took the deputies until now from 3 o'clock this morning to harvest this entire operation," said Livingston County Sheriff John York. "We know this individual has been responsible for supplying an awful lot of marijuana not only int his area, but in the Rochester area."

Police say Diane Bielewicz is charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana. Joseph is also charged with felony marijuana possession as well as criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Sheriff York says state and federal charges are also possible.
