An insurance broker specializing in health care coverage for upstate New York businesses is re-investing in Monroe County.
A new office space on Creek Street in Webster accommodates the needs of a growing staff at Bene-Care.
"We've increased our sales and our entire marketing plan has increased exponentially the past two years. We've doubled in size, with respect to the employees, and we expect that's going to continue," said Jeffrey Bach, Bene-Care vice president.
The project, supported by the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency and the Small Business Association, was approved as part of the economic stimulus package.
"We outgrew our old space and decided to go off on our own and pretty much be in charge of our own destiny for the future," Bach explained.
It is a future that includes a critical role in health care reform.
"The insurance marketplace has exploded. It has really become a specialty – a situation where you really need a hands-on expert to help you through all the complex programs that are available in the marketplace," said Bach.
Bach said despite how you feel about the legislation, health care affects everyone.
"Companies are really interested in providing quality health care without breaking the bank, so that's a delicate balance."
