For nearly 40 years, a Rochester printing company has helped its customers look good in public.
Ultraprint Corporation opened in 1973 as a quick print shop.
"Customer demands have changed over the years and we kind of swerved into being a commercial printing company … that mainly serves small and mid size business customers with a few large companies in the mix," said Dana Vosburgh, Ultraprint president.
Ultraprint now does a little bit of everything.
"Basic business printing is a majority of our work. Identity packages for people. Letterheads, envelopes, business cards, brochures, mailers, flyers," Vosburgh said.
The company also produces advertising materials.
"Postcards, sell sheets, product information sheets, table tents, menus. We're surprised sometime at the variety of things we do," Vosburgh explained.
Vosburgh considers his business more of a problem solver than just a printer.
"Anyone can buy a printer and produce a printed product. A lot of our customers come to us. They aren't designers, they aren't printers. They need help. That's what we're really good at," he said.
Vosburgh said Ultraprint has also gotten good at keeping up with the times and technology.
"Maybe 70 percent of our business is still traditional printing, but the digital is growing faster and faster. What we try to do is find equipment that meets our customers' needs and make that work as long as we can until that becomes virtually obsolete and then we go out and buy a new piece of equipment."
