If you're stuck on the side of the road in the middle of a snowstorm, you will probably be really happy to see these guys.

Action Towing & Service has grown to help the Rochester area.

"They say that you have to see a customer a total of six times and they must have six good experiences and no bad ones before they become a customer for life," said Action Towing & Service President Craig Camp.

They are the guys you want to call on the least, but they are there in the situations you need them the most.

Action Towing & Service has been helping commuters across Rochester for the past eight years. Bought by Camp in 2002, the company began with two trucks, a handful of employees and an 8-by-6-foot office.

Today, it has developed into a 33-member, 26-truck emergency response service crew. It operates out of a brand-new, 46,000-square-foot facility on Marketplace Drive in Henrietta.

"Eight years ago, when I climbed into that truck for the first day of work on my own, trying to make my own dollar, I never thought I'd be looking out on Marketplace Drive from my own office," Camp said.

Born and raised in Henrietta, Camp began his career at Bucci Towing – an experience he said has helped him develop Action Towing & Service throughout the years.

"I was able to use some of the contacts I'd established while working at Bucci Towing to try to facilitate come contracts," he said.

The company moved to its Marketplace Drive headquarters in June after receiving a $1.5 million grant from the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA).

The larger facility allows Action to take on more customers and expand services to include automotive repairs. It also houses the company's 33 employees, who Camp credits for the business' success so far.

"We have a motto here that's: Mission first, people always," Camp said. "Without the employees that come to work every day, there really wouldn't be anything here. I think that's what really makes a difference in this company."

As for the future, Camp said the only place to go is up, which is something he doesn't anticipate to be a problem.

"I think that as long as we keep doing the job that we're doing and we keep putting the best product out there, the work will come to us," Camp said. "It's been a real good ride and I can't wait to see where it goes from here."
