Nearly a half year after closing, Rochester's Spot Coffee reopens this week.
"Let me tell you, we've heard from the city of Rochester and the support, because we've gotten phone calls, we've gotten emails, we've gotten hits on the website, continuously asking about 'hey you guys closed it, when you going to open?’,” said Spot Coffee President Richard Gress.
Spot closed its Rochester cafe in October, 15 years after it opened in the old Hallmans Chevrolet building on East Avenue in Rochester.
Headquartered in Buffalo, spot also has shops in Del Ray Beach, Florida and Toronto, and two more are being built. The company tries to make each store unique to its location.
"Our entire service bar is completely rebuilt, the flooring is upgraded. All of the seating is brand new, and you'll see a much bigger kitchen to accommodate our beautiful Italian pizza oven, which I hope will be a very big hit here in Rochester," said Gress.
Spot Rochester will be open 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Along with new pizza choices, they'll add Belgian waffles and an all-day breakfast like they do in Buffalo.
"We are still going to be that great community cafe. We still will have a beautiful stage area, dining room area, a beautiful lounge, comfort/parlor area for seating, along with free WiFi,” said Gress.
They're ready to reopen this week.
