NYSERDA Grants $8 Million for Energy Storage Projects

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) announced $8 million to develop 19 statewide energy storage projects.

Among the companies and colleges benefiting from the funds are Newark, Wayne County-based Ultralife Corporation. Ultralife will receive $2.4 million in funding for its clean energy efforts.

Also in our area: The GM plant in Honeoye Falls will get nearly $197,000 from NYSERDA; Rochester-based Impact Technologies and Cerion Enterprises will also benefit for their work in improving battery technologies; and RIT's efforts to further the recycling and reuse of lithium-ion batteries will get a $195,000 boost in funding.
