ITT GPS Components Cleared for Manufacture
ITT Geospatial Systems of Rochester has earned approval from the Air Force for a key component of the next generation of global positioning systems.

Transmitting and data units made here are part of GPS III technology to be used by the public and the military. ITT is part of a Lockheed Martin team working on the system.

The units are designed to be more accurate, reliable and resistant to jamming.

In a statement, Mark Pisani, vice president and general manager of Positioning, Navigation and Timing Systems at ITT Geospatial Systems said, “Our company is committed to providing our warfighting and civilian users more accurate and reliable capabilities that improve interoperability and jam resistance.”

Testing of ITT components took place last month. With approval, the company can prepare to manufacture the items.
