Judge Approves Kodak Settlement in Discrimination Lawsuit
After nearly seven years of litigation, Eastman Kodak's $21.4 million offer to settle class action race-based lawsuits has been approved by a federal judge.

The lawsuits were filed by African-American employees who claim white counterparts received higher pay and promotions. The company was also accused of maintaining a racially hostile work environment.

The deal pays about 3,000 current and past Kodak employees’ amounts between $1,000 and $50,000. U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Feldman approved the settlement.

Kodak responded to the settlement Friday in a statement.

"We're pleased that this matter has been resolved. It's important to note that this settlement represents a resolution of mutual interest. It absolutely does not suggest any wrongdoing on the part of Kodak. The court, in its decision, acknowledged the many challenges that plaintiffs faced in pursuing this litigation.”
