Thanksgiving is over and for some people, it's time to start thinking about Christmas trees.
Rochester's Boy Scout Troop 19, also known as "Tay House," kicked off its 58th annual Christmas tree sale Saturday. The sale continues through Thursday, December 24, or as long as trees are available.
The fundraiser is the only one of the year for the troop. Proceeds pay for scout outings like weekend campouts, trips to scout camps, a canoe trip and the national Boy Scout Jamboree.
The troop has 500 trees for you to choose from, all New York State grown.
"We've got some really beautiful trees this year, and if customers come down, hopefully they'll be able to find something they like.
And we've had a really good, exciting scouting year this year," said Kelly Wasson, Tay House scoutmaster.
The scouts are also putting together about 800 wreaths that can be ordered from their website.
Trees will be sold at Asbury First United Methodist Church Thursdays and Fridays from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.
