If you've noticed a lot more holiday lights up this year, you're not imagining things. Stores actually report a run on the lights this year, and are giving much of the credit to a warm November.

Sharon Malm wanted to top the large tree outside her Webster home with some white LEDs Tuesday evening.

"I like that color to go with the blue bottom, and they don't have any," said Malm.

"Christmas light sales have been pretty good this year," said Mark Barbero, owner of Debbie's Supply.

Lights have been flying off the shelves at many stores in the Rochester area.

"I think the general consensus is since the weather is so good," said Barbero. "Had the weather done what would be typical for Rochester, I wouldn't have nearly what I do have on my house."

We may know another reason it's hard to find lights. Remember Clark Griswold from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Well we think we found him in real life.

"Has anyone ever called you Clark Griswold," we asked Bill Wenner of Penfield.

"Yes," he answered. "Every day I hear it from somebody."

That is because of the thousands upon thousands of lights in the yard of his Yorktown Drive home.

"I put 'em up until the circuit blows, and then I call my electrician, 'give me more power,'" Wenner said.

He said this year's November weather was an exterior illuminator's dream.

"Fantastic," Wenner said. "We start the day after Halloween and it's been so beautiful."

With some widespread accumulating snow expected across the region, it looks like Malm got her lights up just in the nick of time.

"This is awesome," she said. "Then I can see the snow on them and that's fun."

"It's beautiful in the snow," said Wenner. "Just stay away from the rain. Give me snow, no rain."

It appears Mother Nature is once again willing to lend a holiday hand.
