The red carpet was rolled out at Nazareth College Saturday morning as local teenagers got the chance to come face to face with some literary idols!

The fifth annual Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival welcomed 26 best selling authors. More than a thousand local teen readers were able to meet their favorites, ask questions, and even get some autographs.

"Making a connection between an author and a reader is really important to them, and they get to see that authors are real people, and we do have some aspiring writers here as well. So hopefully, they'll get some really good advice from these authors and become writers themselves someday," said Stephanie Squicciarini, Teen Services librarian.

Breakout sessions were also held to promote interaction with readers and writers. Authors included A.S. King, Simone Elkeles, and Jennifer Smith.
