Park Avenue Arts Festival Coming

Park Avenue Arts Festival Coming
It’s almost that time in Rochester – time for arts and crafts, food and friends in one of the city’s most beloved neighborhoods.

The annual Park Avenue Arts Festival begins Saturday, August 7, at 10 a.m., and runs through Sunday, August 8, at 5 p.m.

Event organizers say 400 artists from around the country and about 40 food vendors will participate in what they call a truly “Rochester” event.

“I think the Park Ave. Summer Arts Festival is a culmination of all the positive energies that go on all year ‘round. People come to see and be seen on Park Avenue,” Festival producer Jeff Springut said. “They come to shop; there’s great artwork. The neighborhood itself is an asset to the community, and the festival is a way to show off that asset.”

This year, organizers say there will be free parking at two Gleason Works lots: one on University Avenue and one in Monroe Square, off Monroe Avenue.

Animals will not be allowed at the festival, and organizers stress this is a non-alcoholic event. Open container laws will be strictly enforced.
