Many of the profiles you see on Viewfinder come from tips from our viewers.

This week's subject was brought to my attention when a viewer called to say she saw a young man making a difference in his neighborhood.

Jess Labella, 16, has a simple message and he found a simple way to share it. Labella delivered his message from an intersection near his home in Irondequoit.

Jess held up a sign that said "Smile."

When I asked Labella why he would use some of his summer vacation to do this he replied, "Because it makes a difference. 'Cause something as small as one word can change an entire day."
