Two top finalists competed in the Chef of the Year Tasting Event Sunday.
The competition to benefit Foodlink had Brad Yearwood and Stephen Kingston cooking their way to victory. Kingston is Executive Chef at RIT and Yearwood is Culinary Educator at Wayne Technical and Career Center.
The American Culinary Federation's 35th Annual Chef of the Year is always a way to show great chefs from the area. The two were given baskets each with secret ingredients to make a menu from and four judges were in charge of choosing the winner.
"So we're really excited, it's the ACF Chef of the Year event," said Terra Keller, Foodlink Events Manager. "They've been doing this for years but this is the first year they're doing a culinary duel for the title of Chef of the Year."
Brad Yearwood was the winner of the event. A portion of the proceeds were given to Foodlink's Cooking Matters program. Keller says they expect about $5,000 dollars from this event.
