A University of Rochester fraternity has been suspended while the school investigates allegations of hazing.
A university spokesperson said Sigma Chi fraternity will not be able to participate in any event or meeting until its case is heard. The school will not say what kind of hazing the students are accused of taking part in.
According to an article in the Campus Times, the school newspaper, the fraternity was raided by U of R security April 19 at the request of the Office of the Dean of Students and Fraternity and Sorority Affairs.
The article quotes an anonymous pledge who said he did not consider the incident in question hazing and that they were never forced to do anything dangerous that included drinking or drugs.
