Police have positively identified the body that was discovered Thursday in the Genesee River.
The Rochester Police Department confirmed Friday morning that the body is that of Sterling Williams, 16.
The Rochester teen had been missing since Sunday. He was last seen near Genesee Valley Park, which is upstream from where the body was discovered.
About 9 a.m. Thurday, the body was spotted near the water's edge along the river near Plymouth Avenue. Emergency crews were called in to make the recovery.
Police say the Medical Examiner is looking into the cause of death for Sterling Williams.
