Deputies say a Central New York man was on drugs when he crashed his car yesterday evening in Ontario County, leaving one of his passengers dead.
A car with five people, all from Baldwinsville in Onondaga County, was hit by an SUV at the intersection of County Roads 4 and 20 in the town of Seneca. Investigators say the car's driver, Andrew Clark, 25, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and was broadsided by the westbound SUV.
Leonard Fabian, 28, was in the back seat of Clark's car. He was killed when he was partially thrown from the car as it rolled over.
Clark is in guarded condition at Strong Hospital. Two of his passengers, Travis Woodard, 27, and Kevin Gabriel, 26, were airlifted to Strong and are also in guarded condition. The driver of the SUV, Phyllis Fritz, 66, of Honeoye Falls, suffered minor injuries and was satisfactory at Strong.
Andrew Clark is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs. Deputies say more charges are pending.
