Handlebar moustaches, imperial style, horseshoe, full beards and more graced the stage of Water Street Music Hall on Saturday.
The world of competitive bearding came to Rochester in the form of the North East Regional Beard and Moustache Championship.
Contestants were judged in 17 different categories based on their hair style of choice.
This years event was hosted by the Rochester Beardsmen Society. It was the competition's first year in Rochester and if the beardsmen have anything to do with it, not the last.
"I've been traveling and the group has as well, we've been doing beard competitions throughout the U.S. for a long time and it was time for us to step up and host our own and we're doing it for charity because that's the way that we roll, that's what we do," said Trevor Cranmer, Rochester Beardsmen Society President.
Close to a hundred beard-o-philes from across the country came to Water Street for the competition.
Proceeds from the event will go to The Villa of Hope and the family of Jack Schifano, a former Beardsman who passed away earlier this year.
