Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies say the Clarkson man who claimed two men entered his home last month and stabbed him fabricated the entire story.
William Haines, 64, of Clarkson-Parma Townline Road is charged with falsely reporting an incident.
Deputies responded to Haines' residence July 25 for the report of a stabbing. Haines told authorities that he was home alone when two men entered his garage and forced their way in. He claimed he was attacked and stabbed by the men, giving a detailed description of the suspects.
Investigators later determined the story was made up.
Haines was treated at Strong Hospital for stab wounds; injuries police say Haines inflicted upon himself.
Haines is being held in the Monroe County Jail on $500 bail.
