We're learning that a correctional officer was airlifted to the hospital Wednesday after he was attacked in the Attica Correctional Facility by an inmate.
The New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association Vice President tells us the officer was punched in the face while monitoring inmates as they were given medication.
They say inmate Delanta Spiers broke both of the officer's eye sockets and his jaw.
The association says another officer was bitten down to the bone on his arm, while another hurt his knee.
State Police are expected to press charges against Spiers.
