For 30 years Rochester's own drum and bugle corp has entertained locally and around the world.
Saturday night, the Empire Statesmen performed in their home town for the last time.
Drum corp supporters came to Webster Schroeder High School to celebrate the anniversary of the Empire Statesmen and the send-off.
The group has won five world championships on top of local and national awards. The hundreds of people that came out on Saturday were a testament to their accomplishments.
"It's kind of staggering because in the day to day grind of keeping your group going, you don't realize the impact you've had on other people until a day like today, so it's overwhelming," said David Bruni, Empire Statesmen Assistant Director.
Finances are what's shutting them down, but not their spirit. Bruni said the Empire Statesmen were never paid and said it was the passion and the dedication of the group that kept them going.
