Eight Denny’s Restaurants in the Rochester area teamed up with local animal groups to host the fourth annual "Denny’s Dog Days of Summer" event.
Participating Denny's locations held adoption and donation drives Sunday outside of the restaurant to allow the public to mix and mingle with some four-legged friends.
Community members can also make donations to the twenty-six partnering, nonprofit area shelters including 'Big dogs, Big Hearts Rescue' and the humane society of Livingston county. Last year's event found homes for 55 pets.
"So far it's been one of our most successful fundraisers. So we're hoping to get a few dogs adopted this year, lots of donations and help us to keep continue saving lives," said Julie Lafferty, President of Another Chance Pet Rescue.
The fundraiser took both monetarily donations and donations in the form of pet supplies like food, blankets and bowls for the local participating shelters.
