Thunderstorms Monday afternoon caused some minor problems around the area.
Elmgrove Road was shut down for a little while after some power lines came down. It is unknown what caused the wires to fall, but some neighbors say they heard a loud noise when it happened.
"I heard this explosion, like it almost hit the house, you know. I came out to see what happened and there was a fire across the street in the yard, the line did come down. I don't know if lightning hit it or it just broke or what," said Gates resident Fred Ottley.
As of 5 p.m., RG&E was reporting some 2,200 customers in Monroe County were without power. There were also some reports of tree damage.
