Another member of a gang that controlled the streets of a neighborhood on Rochester's east side was sentenced Monday.
Russell Hampton, 23, of Rochester was sentenced to 30 years in state prison and a decade of supervised release. He was convicted on a federal charge of racketeering.
Prosecutors say Hampton, along with other members of the so called "Chain Gang" or "Wolf Pack" sold drugs and committed violent crimes up until 2009 in the Garson Avenue area.
Prosecutors say the "Chain Gang" was responsible for the shooting death of Carmella Rogers, a 15-year-old girl, in 2007 and the attempted murder of several rival gang members.
