The youngest mayor in New York State will be in Rochester Wednesday evening. Svante Myrick is the mayor of Ithaca.
He's now 26 and was sworn in at age 24. Myrick's path to office has received national attention.
He spent part of his childhood homeless and his single mother worked numerous jobs to support her kids.
Myrick will be a guest of the Monroe County Young Democrats Wednesday evening. He'll speak about young people and public leadership at Writers and Books on University Avenue.
The event goes from 5-7 p.m.
