The Department of Motor Vehicle records show the driver of a car involved in a fatal crash earlier this week had his license revoked more than a year ago.
Michael Weber, 20, is charged with vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving in a crash that killed Joel Ajavon, 20.
Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies say Weber was speeding down East Street in Pittsford around 2:30 Monday morning when he lost control of his car and struck a tree. Ajavon, who was a passenger in the car, died at the scene.
DMV records show Weber did not have a license at the time of the crash. The DMV says Weber was convicted as a youth in 2011 for drinking and driving. At that time, Weber was ordered to have an ignition interlock device installed on any vehicle he drove.
In addition, DMV records show that Weber failed to answer to a traffic summons in February of 2012, and in May of 2012 he surrendered his license.
Weber is being held on $75,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
Meanwhile, funeral arrangements have been finalized for Ajavon.
Calling hours will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Anthony Funeral Home on Monroe Avenue.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Southside Church of Christ on Calkins Road.
