A man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after he was shot outside of a convenience store late Friday night on Rochester's west side.
It happened around 11 o'clock.
Rochester Police say a city resident in his early 20s was outside the Four Star Mini Mart at the corner of Lake and Ravine Avenues socializing with friends when he was was shot in the lower extremities. Police say the victim was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was taken into emergency surgery.
"We're kind of trying to sift through what exactly took place and we have a lot of information to go through at this point," said Captain John Corbelli of the Rochester Police Department. "But right now we're waiting to see what his condition is and whether or not he's going to make it, and hopefully he does. And after that we'll continue the investigation at the scene."
Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
