When you think of Dansville, you can't help think of balloons, especially this time of year.
Labor Day weekend marks the 32nd annual New York State Balloon Festival.
It's a festival that defines Dansville.
"The town really supports it a lot here," said Paul Veilleux, Full of Hot Air.
This weekend the town is wall-papered in balloons.
"I have balloon lights, I have balloon mobiles, Christmas ornaments, stain glass," said Veilleux.
The festival brings in an average of 30,000 people to the village.
"The community realizes that only just have people come and have a good time here, they come back," said Dorothy Hotchkiss, Dansville Festival of Balloons Committee President.
Hotchkiss says it's the dozens of arts, food and craft vendors, that create the family fun atmosphere. But of course the main attraction are always, the balloons.
Bill Snyder and his wife got their front row seats two hours early to watch the balloon launch.
"We like to watch them fly," said Snyder.
Watching is as good as it will get for Snyder.
"You cant get me that high off the ground."
Same rule applies for Roxanne Smith.
"Never rode in one. It would be an experience to go up in one. But you know sometimes they go down in people's yard which is sometimes scary and you know you have to watch out for those power lines," said Smith.
Festival goers says its the majestic sites of the hot air balloons that makes this fest.
"We have thousands of people that come to see these hot air balloons lift off," said Hotchkiss.
Whether you take the $200 ticket ride or not for most its still an experience.
"There's something for everybody," said Smith.
